Dance Character Shoes Will Greatly Bring Up Your Dance Performance

Dance character shoes are named as such because they are worn typically by dancers or performers that perform on stage. The name is a bit deceiving because they are basically jazz dance shoes, although they are a constructed to be a bit heartier.

Models that are made for men look just like simple tie up oxfords for men. These shoes are a bit unremarkable in that they usually have an ankle strap and a pump looking toe for the women’s models. The heels on the women’s models are almost always chunky type heels that are no more than two inches high. In some models there may be a t strap coming from the toe to the ankle strap.

Some cheaper models will have leather like soles that are made from man made material; most professional dancers do not opt for these types because they do not move as smoothly across the stage as the leather sole varieties do. These shoes are almost always made with leather sole because leather soles work best on stage floors.

The leather soles of dance character shoes are brushed soft leather, there are barely any treads on these shoes which works out perfectly when you are trying to glide across a stage but not so well when you are stepping off a curb. These shoes are not made for use outdoors. They will wear away quickly on tough sidewalks and pavement, they are specifically made to function perfectly on stage floors but do not do well outdoors.

A good rule of thumb is to keep your investment protected. It can run easily into the hundreds only by wearing them on stage or inside when trying out your dance steps.

Dance character shoes are the perfect footwear for inside dance use, they are expensive but well worth the investment.
